Wendy

Hi! My name is Wendy and I am the Director of Watch ‘Em Grow. I have been working with children for 25 years. I connected with my love of children early on and began my career as a classroom aid in a pre-K classroom. I opened a family daycare right after my first child was born. An in-home daycare was the perfect fit for me and my growing family. As my business and family grew we moved to a new home which allowed us to expand to a group daycare. This expansion allowed me to provide care to more children. Around 12 years ago, we found our Camp Hill location and moved across the river to begin a new journey. This was a huge decision, but one our family felt would be beneficial. We began transforming our current location in to the daycare center I had set out to have. Though we have a facility, I enjoy the fact that it is small enough to get to know all the children individually. I love that I get to provide care for more children and am given the opportunity to grow and learn in a warm, welcoming setting. I can’t envision myself doing any other type of career and am grateful each day for this opportunity.

Cayla

Hi, my name is Cayla  and I work in the infant room. My favorite thing about working with infants is being able to watch their personalities grow and how they change so much as they grow. This is my first time working in a professional childcare center. Previously I baby sat and have experience with infants and toddlers. When I’m not working, I’m spending time with my husband, sewing or reading. I’m a proud fur parent to 3 spoiled guinea pigs. My husband and I are hoping to start our own family soon.

Carley

Hello, my name is Carley. I am currently the teacher in the preschool room. My favorite thing to do with the kids would be class time. Planning out all the lessons and creating fun activities for them makes my heart so warm.

Mr. Chuck

The kids call me “Mr. Chuck!” I worked for the City of Harrisburg for 22 years as a master plumber. I have enjoyed helping my wife achieve her dream of owning a childcare center. Approximately three years ago I left the city to increase my involvement in running the growing program and also to have a closer hand in raising and guiding our three daughters through the teenager years. Throughout the summer you will mostly catch a glimpse of me doing outside work and maintenance in the cooler months. I like to spend time updating our building and providing the children with a safe environment. I also work in the center preparing healthy lunches for the children in our care. I am a licensed plumber and am CPR and First Aid certified, as I like to be prepared to help in any situation.

Tricia

Hi! My name is Tricia Landis and I am pleased to be the director of Watch ‘Em Grow Childcare. I am looking forward to an exciting and positive year with your child. I have been involved with childcare for the past 7 years. I graduated from Harrisburg Area Community College in May of 2018 with an Associate in Arts in Early Care and Education. I love teaching! My mission as a teacher is to help children discover the joy of learning, and to help each child develop a strong belief in his or her own ability to achieve. I want them to learn the importance of hard work and to have a sense of pride in doing their personal best. It is also very important to me that my students appreciate and respect other peoples’ differences. When I am not teaching or planning awesome things for us to do at school, I enjoy reading, being pool-side, going to the races, and spending time with my family and friends.

Emily

Hi, my name is Emily, I am the one-year old teacher and I am currently working toward a degree in early childhood education. My favorite thing to do with the kids is to make art. We follow a theme each week and make crafts every day. Its exciting to watch them be creative and decorate the room with their art. We also dance to music, learn about colors, shapes and numbers. They love to run and climb outside. Its always an adventure with my one-year old’s.

Lauren

Hi, my name is Lauren. I have been in the field of early childhood education for over 10 years. After graduation high school, I pursued my degree in elementary education with a minor in special education from the University of Delaware. I then moved to the Mechanicsburg area and completed a child development in associates degree through Penn Foster University. I am very passionate about early learning and I truly believe that quality childcare and early education builds the strongest foundations for successful futures. I am a mom to four young children and while building my family, I ran my own home based- childcare program. I am excited to be back in a public care setting and I feel blessed to have the opportunity to work with your children and Watch ‘Em Grow.

Alea

My name is Alea, I am the assistant group supervisor in the two-year-old room. I love being in this room because I get to stay on my toes and watch them grow. Every day they learn new things and even teach me new things. I especially love watching them be creative with crafts and even outside. I am currently going to school for early childhood education.

Brenna

Hi, my name is Brenna Landis and I am one of the teachers in the PreK room. This will be my 5th year working at Watch ‘Em grow. I am currently pursuing an Associate in Arts in Early Care and Education. I love the preschoolers and all the exploring, learning and fun we get to have! I believe that the preschool age is the perfect age to impact a child’s life in a very positive way, helping them to believe in themselves and guiding them to pursue their dreams and goals. In my free time you can find me singing, fishing, drawing, snowboarding and spending time with my nephews.
